The BLASTER is a
DLG Glider designed specifically for the new F3K-class.
Many years of competition experience have been brought together
in this new
Design. The wing profile Ag 45 ct-o2, Ag46 ct-02, AG 47 ct-02
was developed
by Dr. Mark Drella. The one-piece fully moulded wing is made
of selected
Balsa and Rohacell. Torsional rigidity is achieved by a special
GRP/CRP
construction with a full span carbon spar and a Rohacell Sandwich
structure
in the ailerons. The carbon wing spar is wrapped in a braided
carbon tube,
the end of the braid is wrapped around tube for the launching
pin, thus
connecting the launching pin directly to the fuselage via the
wing spar.
The fuselage pod and canopy are made from Kevlar cloth with carbon
reinforcement.
The tail boom is a conical tube wound from carbon cloth for additional
strength. The Fin and tailplane are a ready covered lightweight
Balsa /
Carbon structure which allow the model to balance with virtually
no
additional nose weight. The fuselage is large enough to hold
the four servos
for the flaps/ailerons, rudder and elevator.
The aileron servos can of course be fitted into the underside
of the wing.
